Private Lessons

If you can’t make it to any of the regular classes, or if you would like to learn to make a sweet that’s not on the schedule, why not book a private lesson?

Options

A: Suhama and a wagashi of your choice (Time required: 1 hour)

B: Suhama and two other kinds of wagashi (Time required: 1.5 hours)

C: Suhama and three other kinds of wagashi (Time required: 2 hours)

Suhama is a sweet moulded from kinako (roasted soya bean powder) and sugar. The sweet keeps for about 2 weeks.

The sweets in the list above keep for only one day. Participants will get to make two of each sweet they choose. They can sample some of their sweets in class – together with a cup of tea from award-winning tea merchant Rishouen – and take the rest home with them.

Recipes in English will also be provided.

 

Lesson fee:

Option A: JPY10,000 for 1 person; JPY13,000 for 2 people; for 3 or more participants, JPY6,000 per person 

Option B: JPY13,000 for 1 person; JPY16,000 for 2 people; for 3 or more participants, JPY6,500 per person 

Option C: JPY16,000 for 1 person; JPY18,000 for 2 people; for 3 or more participants, JPY7,000 per person 

Maximum capacity: 5 people

Do include in your e-mail your full name, the number of participants, and the date and time you would like to have a class. Please also choose a class type from Options A to C and the type(s) of sweets that you would like to make. If you do not receive a reply within three business days, please contact us again.

Cancellation policy: Applicants who withdraw on the day of their class or the day before will be charged the lesson fee in full. Cancellations made two or three days before the class will incur a charge equivalent to half of the lesson fee. There will be no charge for cancellations made up to four days before the lesson.
